Ready for Neowise

Submitted by jimwcoleman

All set up and ready to try to catch the comet again. Neowise has dimmed significantly so this time I going after it with the 120mm APO rather than with a camera and lens. I bought this rig specifically for wide-field sky surveys and comets have long been my target of choice. Normally I would use an SCT to acquire comet images but as Neowise is still such a dominating target, the refractor is a better choice. Skies are clear and we're ready to go...

After all the excitement and buildup, I had to pack up right at sunrise - all because I forgot the USB-B to USB-C 10gb throughput cable. I had no way to connect the ASI 1600 to the laptop to take pictures. This was mighty disappointing. As this is the first time I've ever carried that camera and this particular setup away from the home, I could cut myself a little slack, so I didn't beat myself up too badly on the long drive home. I did, however, order two spare cables the moment I walked in the door ... very very frustrated.
